Motif #6 and Holy Holly Kaleidoscope!

Igoya, my twin sister, granted me permission to post this image. She created it from a photo of an ice-glazed holly bush in her front yard, using a software program called Kaleidoscope Kreator 3.

Does this image inspire you? It inspires me. Wouldn't it make an amazing tatted snowflake?

If you think this image should be made into greeting cards, please leave Igoya a comment at her Etsy shop or here.

First Snowflake

For Tatting Tea Tuesday, I'm working on partridges
and Wendy Durell's 4 Ring Snowflake while sipping Snowberry Tea.

4 Ring Snowflake

This auspicious flake is the first one I have ever attempted that actually was completed in time for holiday gift-giving.

It was made using "Signature" thread from Japan. It is a long staple Egyptian cotton quilting thread that comes in several solids as well as variegated colors. The color is M07 - Pastels. It is pale enough for snowflakes, but would also be divine tatted up for baby.

I am counting this snowflake as motif number six (6) in my 25 motif challenge.

Wishing you all blissful me time to create something beautiful. See you next Tuesday for more communi-tea!

LOVE your sister's K-scope (I'm too lazy to spell)! I used to make quite a lot of them in Adobe after I figured out a way. The final product is like magic - you can never predict all the patterns you will see. It is beautiful inspiration.

Your snowflake is SO pretty! Love the colors!

Hey there! That Kaleidoscope is wayyyy cool!

I'm totally diggin' that snowflake! Thanks a bunch for the link to the pattern! Now, that's another one I gotta tat someday! It's awesome! Love the colors of the thread you tatted it up in!

Your sister is an amazing artist as well. Her Holly Kaleidoscope is beautiful.

I really like your snowflake. Thank you for the link to the pattern, it's already printed and in my book of must do patterns.

I'm trying to catch up on your recent posts! My goodness - such creativity, plus very interesting topics!

The kaleidoscope is so neat; thanks for the link; and your tatted snowflake is very pretty and is an interesting 4-ring pattern. Almost looks like butterflies in there! That's a very crisp-looking thread. What would that thread size be equivalent to?

Then there's that GORGEOUS partridge! Perfectly made and beautifully adorned. (I like the gems in there!) It's one thing to cut out a pattern; it's another to sew it together and stuff it, which is what I'm assuming you did. I'm not real skilled at that kind of thing! With wool felt yet! Beautiful job!

The pear is very pretty, too. Needle felting is something I've never tried.

I know you had a big snow event this weekend. Hope you're doing okay. That much snow is scary.

The snowflake is beautiful. Where did the pattern come from or did you design it? I really like it.
