Ring in the New Year (Day 12) Vintage Tatted Coaster Set and Box Pattern

Don't know how long the pattern link will remain active, so go look and print it out if you think such a project is of interest.

Special thanks to Bramcost Publications for making this vintage coaster pattern available! It is just one of many vintage needlearts publications they are sharing.

What a chuckle I just had! I thought this was a spook - you know how you and Ann goof around?

Well, from the thumbnail, I thought this was about her tatting press! Ha!

Thank you for finding such a neat pattern. It is still on-line and now residing safely atop my computer desktop.

Thanks also for the laugh!

Thanks for the link! I printed it to PDF and will think about what colors to use - I'm thinking something pretty and spring-y!

Thanks for the link to the pattern. I read about how to make the case but the terminology is a little old - what is sheet wadding and cretonne? I think I need to get a little time on Google to find out.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought this was similar to Ann's tatting press and that possibly there WAS such a thing back in the 1920's!!
It is amazing how they decorated it almost in the same way!

However, apparently the 'cover' is about 12" in diameter(!) and protects the LARGE doily (for a carafe), plus the 6 tatted coasters, spread out as if sitting on an old 78 rpm vinyl record! (Anyone remember those?)

I love that the fabric should match the china (of course!). "Oh, Myrtle, I LOVE your carafe doily and coaster case." But mainly, I'd hope they'd love the tatting!

Thanks for sharing this!!
